From director. Starring, and.Weaker than the first, but still enjoyable. The story is not that interesting and the journey for Daniel is non existent. Miyagi gets a more fleshed out history, but feels like this didn’t really need to be made. Also the fake locations are a pain to watch. Also Japanese people talking English to each other. Miyagi makes more jokes.

The best part is the friendship between Daniel and Miyagi. Bill Conti does a stellar job with the soundtrack.Movierating: 2,5/5Videorating: 4/5Audiorating: 4/5.🎥. 7/10-The Karate Kid Part II (1986)-Directed by John G. Avildsen-Starring: Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita-This film feels like a true sequel in the sense of the world because instead of just being a rehashed version of the same story, it is really the next chapter of what happens in their story and helps to add to the layers of the original film. The Karate Kid Part II tells the story of Keisuke Miyagi and his trip home to Okinawa after receiving a letter from his dying father. This film completes the one action that all sequels should contain: adding to the world created by the first film.

In this film, they really delve into the layers of Keisuke Miyagi as a character and in some scenes really open him up with his vulnerability. In this film, the roles are sometimes switched for scenes and Daniel has to be a mentor for Keisuke in these times of trouble. The set design and costumes are all accurately realistic which helps make the film more likable. The dialogue doesn’t feel quite as charming as the original although there are instances when some new dialogue feels even fresher than the original.

The third act however feels like it was only added to satisfy fans of the original who wanted something like the original. It feels unnecessary and unneeded. Overall, this second installment of the Karate Kid franchise has the same heart and soul as the original and helps to add to the world of the film but can’t seem to fully separate from the roots of the original towards the end.

Keep Up to Good Work! Stay Strong and Smart! Happy Belated Birthday BD Wong!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it really just a rumor?in the film we NEVER see Chad's face because he's hat so low you can't even tell if it's actually him. You NEVER see Dutch on the ground BTW.

And when Kreese is choking the crap out of Johnny his back is conveniently turned to the camera the whole time. Another thing I noticed is the guy on the ground is wearing a completely different jacket. It's Brown with wool around the collar and not the same grey one from the original film.

And the fact that Chad McQueen hated the platinum blonde hair really leads me to believe it wasn't him but I could be wrong! ' It's been rumored that Chad McQueen did not return to shoot the parking lot scene at the beginning of KK2. Dutch is barely visible with no speaking lines, shoulders hunched and wearing a baseball cap of sorts. I asked William Zabka about this. He tells me that McQueen dyed his hair for the first KK film, but was unwilling to do it again for such a brief appearance. He wore the cap to disguise this lack of continuity. ' CHAD MCQUEEN: 'John wanted that whole Aryan look.

Once a week I’d have to get my hair dyed platinum f- orange. In hindsight it was a good thing, so I didn’t get recognized and get my ass kicked when the movie came out'. Yuji Okumoto,Sensei Fumio Demura and Tamlyn Tomita Circa 1985.Yuji: ' My interest in martial arts started when I was 13 years old. I was not very big as a kid so I decided that in order to defend myself, I had to study some sort of self defense. On top of which, I was a big fan of the old school karate/kung fu movies of the seventies.

My first experience in the arts was Chito-ryu karate'. 'The stunt and fight choreographer was Pat Johnson who had worked on the first Karate Kid. I worked out with him a week before we started shooting and I also spent time working out with Sensei Fumio Demura'.

As a college student, the beautiful Tamlyn developed a passion for modelling. She began by entering into beauty pageant competitions. She was crowned Queen at the 1984 Nisei Week Pageant held in Los Angeles. The following year, 1985, Tamlyn was crowned Queen at the Miss Nikkei International. It was her first beauty pageant victory at the 1984 Nisei Week Pageant that paved the way for her acting career. As part of her winning prize, Tamlyn got to travel to Hawaii where she was selected by director John G.

Avildsen to star in the first sequel to 1984’s The Karate Kid.heightline.com. Kumiko and Chozen ended up getting married! 'We were joking that we better be in there,” Miss Tomita, whose show films in Vancouver, said of her meal with Mr. Okumoto in nearby Seattle. One way to accomplish this, she said, might be to fashion an “alternative reality” where “Chozen and Kumiko got together, and they appear in the last episode” of “Cobra Kai.” While Miss Tomita remains optimistic that Kumiko and “everybody” from the series — including from 1994’s “The Next Karate Kid,” starring future Oscar winner Hilary Swank — will find a way to be incorporated into the storyline of “Cobra Kai,” Miss Shue is somewhat less sanguine about Ali’s return. One of the most underrated and misunderstood characters in the karate kid movie was Bobby brown from the Cobra Kai Dojo. Sure, he was one of the guys who bullied Daniel larusso but looking back, he was probably the guy from the dojo who knew where to draw the line.

He tried to tell Johnny to leave Ali alone at the beach, told Johnny to leave Daniel alone when he saw that he was going too far when he chased and beat him up on Halloween as revenge for a prank that Daniel played on him, sincerely apologized to Daniel for injuring him in the semi finals of the all valley karate tournament under his sensei, John kreese's orders (in the movie novelisation, he's so disgusted, that he even throws his black belt on the ground, quits cobra Kai and leaves the arena) and tried to stop kreese from killing Johnny after losing the finals. He was, indeed, the only member of Cobra Kai with a conscience and a sense of honour.
