HelloI know the Switch modding scene isn't big here yet, but for those who are interested, I wanted to share some tips and make a list of the mods that I've personally found to work thus far. This is not a comprehensive list, but rather a collection of the ones I've tried personally.TIPS TO GET STARTED- You will obviously need a Switch running custom firmware. That is beyond the scope of this post, but you can find all of the info you need online.- There is a Youtube video called ' that will take you through all of the steps to get mods running.- You are limited to 10 mod slots.
Please note that 4 of the slots will be taken up by the Skyrim DLC and the Link outfit, but these can be overwritten as they load automatically from the game.- Though you are limited to 10 slots, you can still use the 'Merge Plugins' program (available on Nexus) to combine a lot of similar mods, giving the possibility for far more than 10 mods.- You can find pre-converted mods for Switch on Nexus, but there are only around 60 or so available at the moment since this is all still new. Alternatively, you can convert most PC mods to be compatible with the Switch. All necessary info for that is covered in the Youtube video I mentioned above.- If you want to convert the PC mods, you must use the, as this is the version that is on Switch.- I've tested around 40 mods so far. Unfortunately (unless there is some kind of workaround), if you want to use the Merge Plugins program, you do need to have Skyrim SE for your PC. This is because Merge Plugins scans for the game before it even opens.You may be able to spoof it somehow, but I haven't played around with it. I'm not sure if it's looking for the Skyrim EXE file or if it's just looking for the folders.
The only other thing I can think of would be to search Youtube for an alternative method of merging plugins.Maybe someone who knows a bit about the merging side of things can chime in or expand on some of this. If you figure anything out please let me know!
I’ve never tried, but there are only 10 in the INI file so you would have to manually add coding to the file. Pretty certain it won’t work though because the website that hosts the NX Toolkit says that 10 slots are the limit.You can merge mods though into one slot and have far more than 10. It’s a relatively involved process but if you type “Skyrim Merge Plugins” into YouTube, there are some thorough tutorials on it.After merging, you just need to convert the merged mods to Switch format using NX Toolkit and then proceed as normal.

YesYou may get your switch banned from online? Also yes.As long as the mods do not have copyrighted material it should be legal, and the CFW that you use to load the mods is also free from copyrighted material if you use atmosphere, for a better point of view, hacking a switch is not very different from installing SKSE on pc, is software without copyrighted material done by reverse engineering to modify the intended behavior, so modding a hacked switch is not very different from a legality point of view than installing skse mods in a skyrim with skse installed on pc.
