Red Alert 2 on Windows 10. Install Red Alert 2 with defaults (C: Westwood RA2).Install the Red Alert 2 1.006 patch.; Run Ra2.exe as administrator once.This registers some type libraries as needed. Apply the required compatibility settings with ra2-compat.reg.This only works if your RA2 path is C: Westwood RA2 as advised in step 1, otherwise update this file accordingly.

I just got the origin version running smoothly on Windows 10 64bit following this video:The DirectDraw wrapper used in the video does the trick for me.Just download it (link is at the top) and put the aqrit.cfg and ddraw.dll in your RA2 folder. Also the Origin version has a little launcher on it's own which let's you chose between standard and Yuri, but makes it impossible to run the game in windowed mode, using commandline options. I have RA2 / Yuri's Revenge thru Origin. They were free a while back. But the upgrade from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 (64 bit) killed both the games; they became very slow and laggy. Did the trick for me.I also edited the 4.exe files (game, gamemd, RA2 and RA2md) to run under Win XP SP3 compatibility mode and to run as administrator (although I think the patch alone would do the trick).
Note the patch has to be run separately for RA2 and YR - see the drop-down box. One time only for each.

The game works otherwise well for me, but when I minimize it and then restore it back, the screen stays black and nothing but the cursor is visible. Voices of the game are still working so I think that this is just some kind of graphical issue.
The game performed perfectly with Windows 7.Graphics card: Ati Radeon x1950 Pro (This very same issue also occurs on my other pc with Win 8.1 & Intel HD Graphics so don't blame my old graphics card for this issue)Yuri's Revenge 'edition': Command & Conquer: The First Decade (with the latest unofficial 1.03 patch)Any fixes?
